Tori has designed a sock pattern especially for teaching toe-up socks. In her class students learn Judy’s Magic Cast-on, how to make simple pattern modifications for the instep/leg of the sock, how to knit a sock with a heel flap (eye of partridge), and good stretchy bind-offs for socks. She will also cover how to close the pesky ‘holes’ that often plague knitters where the heel meets the leg of the sock!

Students will use fingering (sock) weight yarn. This class is a good prerequisite for a two at a time sock class that Tori will teach later this year.

One of the yarns that I recommend for the class is Ultimate Sock by Malabrigo. It is shown in the photo above, but the pattern is Normandy by Anne Jones. If you already knit socks, you will be happy to know that this adorable sock is a free pattern on Ravelry.

 **The fine print on classes:

*Yarn needs to be purchased from Wasatch and Wool or there will be an additional $35 class fee. Class participants will receive a 10% discount on non-sale supplies. They will also receive the 10% discount on the final day of class for future knitting projects. We recommend that needles are purchased from Wasatch and Wool as there are significant differences between needle brands.

*Classes, if canceled 10 days before the first day of class, can be exchanged for a future class with the same instructor only. We enforce this policy on behalf of our teachers who have committed their time and expertise. There are no exchanges or refunds for classes cancelled less than 10 days from the first day of class.
