Of course, you will need very spooky stitch markers for the Fright and Delight Hat (or any other project you are working on right now!) We have two very scary sets from Hapbee Creative. The first is The Season of the Witch and the second is The Brains of Halloween.
We also have Halloween themed point protectors because nothing is scarier than having your stitches fall off your needles when you least expect it.
If you need some fluffy and cozy yarn to snuggle up with after too much Halloween scariness, Prairie, a brand-new yarn from Blue Sky Fibers, is the perfect choice!

Prairie is a single-ply 53% Suri alpaca and 47% baby Huacaya alpaca blend. It comes in 14 BlueSky Fibers colors and 7 limited edition Malabrigo colors.
Stardust Wrap by Bobbi IntVeld is lovely knit in Prairie. This beginner friendly wrap is knit on the bias in stockinette stitch with a loose gauge for a beautiful, draped wrap.
Another pattern for Prairie also from Bobbi IntVeld is Carina Cowl. Knit with one hank of Prairie, this trellis stitch cowl is full of beautiful texture.
If you have wanted to knit patterns from designer PetiteKnit but the thought of mohair makes you itch, Prairie is a wonderful alternative.  Cumulus Blouse uses two strands of mohair held together, it could be knit using two strands of Prairie instead.

Similarly, a very basic raglan like PetiteKnit’s No Frills Sweater would be adorable knit holding one strand of Prairie with a fingering such as Sunday from Sandnes Garn or Merino from Knitting for Olive, both yarns are in stock.

Classes with Tori

We have three upcoming classes with Tori.
  1. September 17 - Fix It 101 Workshop, 4-7pm
  2. September 21 - Navigating Ravelry, 9-11am
  3. September 25 - Mosaic Knitting, 5-8pm (more information on this class coming soon.)

Fix It 101 Workshop

Tuesday, September 17th from 4:00-7:00pm.
$40*

During this workshop, Tori will discuss stitch anatomy and how to identify a problem in your work…and then how to fix it! You will also learn how to repair dropped or twisted stitches. During this workshop, Tori will also cover how to make a ‘gauge’ swatch and measure your work to ensure proper sizing.

Participants in this workshop should feel comfortable casting on and creating a swatch using knit and purl stitches, and reading a simple pattern. Instructions for creating a swatch will be emailed out prior to class.

How to Navigate Ravelry Class with Tori

Saturday, September 21st from 9:00-11:00am.
$30*

In this class, Tori will teach you how to use the Ravelry website. This will include how to pick projects for specific yarns, how to search for project ideas, how catalog your stash and needles, and how to become part of the Ravelry online community.

You will need to bring your laptop, iPad, or tablet.

*Classes, if canceled 10 days before the first day of class, can be exchanged for a future class with the same instructor only. We enforce this policy on behalf of our teachers who have committed their time and expertise. There are no exchanges or refunds for classes canceled less than 10 days from the first day of class.

To honor the September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance, Wasatch and Wool has partnered with Adopt a Native Elder to knit and crochet hats for those in need on the Navajo reservation. Please join us here at the store on Saturday, September 14th from 9:30am – 3:00pm while we knit and crochet together.

Bring yarn from your stash, or if you need more, we offer some great options at the store such as Berroco Ultra Wool or Malabrigo Rios and Washted. Adopt a Native Elder requests machine washable, adult size hats.  Refreshments and great conversation will be provided.

Our 30% off sale continues

Our sale room has been fully restocked with beautiful yarns, many of them in sweater quantities. We have so many gorgeous yarns coming in this fall that we need to make room. Please stop by and stock up for fall knitting and holiday projects.
