Local Yarn Store Day starts this Thursday!

Local Yarn Store Day is Saturday, April 26th! We are so excited about this, we are starting our celebration on Thursday!

We have new and restocked merchandise as well as a few very special offers for you this year!

First, we just received a new order from Twice Sheared Sheep which includes these exclusive Local Yarn Store Day tins! These little boxes with a sliding hinge are the perfect place to store stitch markers, darning needles and even small scissors. We even have storage dividers in stock to keep your tins extra organized.

Other items that we have back in stock from Twice Sheared Sheep are Yarn to Go CarouselsCable Locks to keep your stitches secure on your circular needles and their brand-new Quick Gauge Ruler which has quickly become my favorite way to check gauge!

To celebrate Local Yarn Store Day, Woolfolk Yarns is offering a new pattern for Tov, their incredibly soft, Aran weight, 100% merino yarn. The Mount Tabor Hat evokes the traditional charm of Nordic ski patterns making it the perfect pattern for Park City. The pattern will be free only for the next three days with the purchase of two or more skeins of Tov yarn.

Knitting Fever, the distributor that supplies local yarn shops with Noro, Juniper Moon Farm and Lykke needles is having a nice raffle. Just send them a copy of your receipt from an April 25th or April 26th purchase of at least a $50 of one of their brands of yarns or needles and you will be entered to win one of their knitting or crochet sets. (One out of twenty submissions will be a winner which are pretty good odds!)

We stock several of the brands that are listed above. Some of them are even in our sale room. For this event, however, purchases need to be made on Friday, April 25th or Saturday, April 26th only since we are closed on Sundays.

To make the day even more fun, we are giving away an issue (you get to choose from our in-stock supply) of a Laine or Making Stories Magazine with every $125 purchase. These are beautiful magazines full of gorgeous patterns! If you are a fan, you know how wonderful these magazines are. If you have never enjoyed one before, this is a great time to get your hands on an issue.

And finally, our sale room, which is normally 30% off, is now 40% off!

Our April Rowan promotion on all Rowan magazines, booklets, and yarns continues but not for much longer! Take 20% off the entire month! Pure AlpacaRowan Felted Tweed and Summerlite 4ply are yarns you should not miss.

Tori is teaching two classes this May!

The first class is a beginner hat class in which students will learn how to knit the July Hat by Courtney Kelley. This is the class for knitters who are comfortable with knitting and purling and want to learn how to make increases and decreases, read from a chart, and ultimately make a hat. (Casting on and binding-off will be reviewed.)

Supplies needed for the class are US #7 (4.5mm) and US #8 (5mm) 16inch needles and US #8 (5mm) double pointed knitting needles, 100grams of a worsted weight yarn, stitch markers, and a tapestry needle. Suggested yarns are Journey Worsted by Julie Asselin or Rios or Seis Cabos from Malabrigo. The yarn for the class needs to be purchased from Wasatch and Wool or there will be an additional $35 class fee, however students will receive a 10% discount on non-sale supplies.

The class will meet on Mondays, May 12th19th, and 26th from 5-7pm.

The second class is a completely new class for us! It is teaching the Technicolor Tote by PetiteKnit.  This bag is worked in a slip-stitch pattern holding three different strands of yarn held together.  The gradual transitions between colors are achieved by continuously changing between the different colors. This is a great class for advanced-beginners or more proficient knitters who just want to have some knitting fun this spring.

The recommended yarn is Double Sunday from Sandness Garn though Woolstok Worsted from Blue Sky Fibers, Cumbria from The Fibre Co. or Heavy Merino from Knitting for Olive are also options.

The yarn for the class needs to be purchased from Wasatch and Wool or there will be an additional $35 class fee, however students will receive a 10% discount on non-sale supplies.

The class will meet on Tuesdays, May 13th and 27th from 5:30-7:30pm.

Our Wednesday help sessions are back!

We are very fortunate to have Annabel Jamail joining us on Wednesdays from 11:00am-1:30pm. If you need a friendly person to look over your knitting or have a question about a particular stitch, these sessions are for you! The cost is $25 per session. They are free if your yarn was purchased from Wasatch and Wool!

Join us Wednesday mornings at 11am for our Sit and Stitch.

There is no charge, but we request that you use yarn purchased from Wasatch and Wool.

We love it when visitors drop by for our knitting get-togethers. If you are working on a project from home, let us help you find a souvenir that you can bring back from your trip to Park City.

Happy Knitting and Crocheting,
Margaux
