Join us for Worldwide Knit in Public Day this Saturday!
Worldwide Knit in Public Day is an annual event that encourages knitters around the world to come together and knit in public. The goal is to promote the craft of knitting by building communities and raising awareness about the artistry and enjoyment of knitting. Knitters of all skill levels gather in parks, coffee shops, libraries, and other public spaces to work on their knitting projects. Another benefit of the day is that knitters and crocheters can meet fellow enthusiasts, share their love for the craft, exchange ideas and techniques, and showcase their creations.
Help us celebrate the joy of knitting and crocheting in our outdoor garden on Saturday, June 14th from 11am - 4pm. Grab a folding or portable chair, a beverage of your choice, and your work in progress and join us as we relax, knit, and crochet.
Twice Sheared Sheep Trunk Show!

We are very excited about our trunk show with Twice Sheared Sheep! Their knitting and crochet accessories fly off our shelves!
Show favorites have been their Yarn Carousel, Knit Extension Cords, Cable Locks, and Quick Gauge Tool. You will also want to see Twice Sheared Sheep's Poma-Llama and Cat Stitch Markers which are adorable!
The trunk show starts Thursday, June 5th and ends on Knit in Public Day, Saturday, June 14th.
Susurro - a dreamy blend of silk, merino, and linen
This month we are featuring Malabrigo Susurro. This sport weight yarn is a dreamy blend of mulberry silk, merino wool, and linen which are spun together to create a yarn that's elegant and as soft as a summer breeze. Each fiber lends its own unique characteristics to the blend, resulting in a yarn that's perfect for lightweight garments and accessories with a beautiful sheen of sophistication and depth of color.
Need project ideas? Here are a few.
Aigues by Audrey Borrego debuted in Making Stories last spring but is now a free pattern on Ravelry. The tee is worked from the top down with Half Twisted Rib on the shoulders and neckline. You can make it cropped as shown in the photo or continue knitting the ribbing to add a few inches to the length. Susurro is a great yarn choice for this tee!
One of Isabel Kraemer’s most knitted patterns is Yume which includes options on making it either short or long sleeved. Susurro is a very popular yarn for this pattern. Yume is worked seamlessly from the top down. I love the unfinished neckline. It gives the tee a very organic feel.
A relaxing project for Susurro is Zester Cowl by Elizabeth Smith. If you are new to knitting, this pattern comes with tutorials and tips on gauge, the stitch pattern, and how to read your knitting. This cowl is knit in the round with larger size needles.
The size and drape of this cowl is perfect for Spring or warmer climates, when you want just a little something around your neck. It’s also a great way to add visual interest or a pop of color to any outfit!
Another popular (and gorgeous) project that was especially designed for Susurro is Kuutar Tee by Sari Nordlund.
Kuutar is a Finnish word meaning “the lady of the moon” or “the goddess of moon”. The Kuutar tee is knitted seamlessly top-down starting at the neckband.
My last project idea for Susurro is Staple Linen Top by Joji Locatelli. This is the perfect basic top for those warm days when your body is calling for something airy and breezy that lets your skin breathe. Its basic shape is timeless and can be dressed up or down. It can even be worn as a vest over a tee or under a blazer or an un-buttoned button-down shirt.
Last call on upcoming June and July classes.
Uncle's Christmas Stocking Class
Saturdays, June 14, 21, 28, July 12, and 26 from 9-11am
$130
(4 open spots)
This is a great time to learn how to knit Christmas stockings! You might want to begin a new tradition and have completed stockings ready for the holidays.(This means you need to start now!)
Tori will lead you through Uncle’s Christmas Stocking by Dorene Delaney Giordano. Students will learn Judy's Magic Cast-on, stranded colorwork, turning a heel using a gusset, ladderback jacquard and finishing techniques. There is also an option to learn the Latvian Braid if you are interested.
Though the pattern calls for a sport weight yarn, Tori recommends using a worsted weight yarn such as Berroco Ultra Wool. This is a class for knitters who are comfortable knitting, purling, making increases/decreases and working in the round.
TAAT Socks Class (Two At A Time)
Mondays, June 16, July 7, July 28 from 4-6pm
$80
(2 open spots)
Socks are a wonderful summer knitting project! Are you going camping or hiking? They are the perfect project to bring with you as they take up no room.
Tori’s class will cover the basics of toe-up sock construction including using magic loop, how to measure feet and 'riff' off a basic pattern. Here at the store, we carry many beautiful sock yarns that you will enjoy using for this project. Some are dyed here in Utah!
This is a class for knitters who are comfortable working in the round with magic loop or double pointed needles. (Knowledge of magic loop will make this class much easier.)
*Please note that supplies for all classes need to be purchased from Wasatch and Wool Yarns, but as a thank you for signing up and attending, students will receive a 10% discount on all non-sale supplies. They will also receive a 10% discount on the final day of class for all non-sale purchases. Participants not using yarn from Wasatch and Wool will be charged an additional $35. We recommend that needles are also purchased from Wasatch and Wool as there are significant differences between needle brands.
Classes cannot be cancelled or exchanged. We enforce this policy on behalf of our teachers who have committed their time and expertise.
To thank our locals and visitors who are in town during Park City’s version of spring, we are increasing the discount from 30% to 40% on all our sale merchandise in our third room!
