Much of the energy needed in their yarn production process already comes from hydropower, and they are working on transitioning from natural gas to electricity to power even more of it.
Here are a few project ideas from knitwear designer PetiteKnit that can be knit in Sandness Garn Alpakka Ull which is 65% alpaca and 35% wool. This blend makes a fabric that is soft, insulating but not heavy. Shown above are Anker’s Sweater - My Size and Anker’s Sweater - My Boyfriend's Size. These are the cold weather versions of her Anker Tee a pattern that has been very popular at the store.
Shown below is Classic Smocked Cardigan, a spectacular cardigan which PetiteKnit designed for Alpakka Ull.
You can combine Alpakka Ull with other Sandness Garn yarns including Alpakka Folgetrad or Tynn Silk Mohair to make PetiteKnit’s Wednesday Sweater.
Below are a few smaller projects from PetiteKnit that are beautiful in Alpakka Ull. The first is Weekend Headband which uses just one ball of Alpakka Ull. The others are Oslo Hat and Sophie Shawl.
There are also knits for babies and children. These include Little Brother’s Romper and Anker’s Jacket which starts at size 3-6 months and goes up to 7-8 years.
Dragon Hoard Yarn Holiday Market
Saturday, December 16th - 11am to 5pm
Our celebration culminates on Saturday, December 16th with a Dragon Hoard Yarn Holiday Market! Trysten will be bringing mini bundles and kits to knit now or to gift to your favorite knitters (including yourself!) She is also bringing a special selection of festive colorways that are perfect for the holiday season as well as for the new year.
I'll have more detail on what she is bringing soon. For now, I can tell you that Water Wraith, one of my favorite Dragon Hoard colors, will be at the market.
Private Help Sessions:
If you need more in-depth help, such as learning to knit or needing us to read through an entire multi-page pattern, you will want to take advantage of private lessons that are now being taught at the store. Classes are $20 per half hour and $35 for a full hour. Please ask us for more information and to schedule a time for you to meet with one of our instructors.

Wednesday mornings at 10am.
Knitters and crocheters of all levels are welcome at our Wednesday morning sit and knits. There is no charge, but we request that you use yarn purchased from Wasatch and Wool Yarns.
We love when visitors drop by for our knitting get togethers. If you are working on a project from home, let us help you find a souvenir that you can bring back from your trip to Park City.
