Brooklyn Tweed sources the 20.5-micron (soft) merino wool for Imbue Worsted from Utah and Nevada. It is then worsted spun into a luxurious fabric with heirloom durability. It’s 5-ply construction creates a bouncy yarn with wonderful cable and textured stitch definition.
Imbued Worsted comes in heathered colorways that are created by blending an assortment of fleece-dyed solid colors resulting in complex shades that harmonize beautifully in colorwork and stripes.
This yarn is a perfect choice for cozy sweaters, accessories, and blankets.

One of my favorite sweater patterns for Imbue Worsted is Gib I from Andrea Mowry. This top-down raglan crew-neck sweater is available in both women’s and men’s sizes (Gib II). The all over knit-purl texture is gorgeous in Imbue Worsted. Also, if you have knit patterns by Andrea Mowry, you know they are well-written and easy to follow.
Another favorite designer of mine is Isabell Kraemer, and she also created a stunning sweater using Imbue Worsted. This time, however, it is a cardigan, Elah.
When Isabell Kraemer designed Elah, she knew that “the design had to reflect the wonderful characteristics of this yarn: Being thick and strong but soft and gentle at the same time. Elah is a cosy cardigan, nicely thick, so that it can easily be layered as a jacket, but with its delicate leafy lace pattern it goes just as well with a summer dress…..” Elah is worked seamlessly from the top down. Fronts are worked in lace pattern, while the back is worked in Stockinette stitch.

Learn to Knit Mitts by Katherine Lynn
Learn to Knit Class
Our Learn to Knit class returns with 2 sessions, one in February and then another in March.
The February dates are:
Mondays, February 12th, 19th, and 26th from 9-11am. The first class on the 12th ends at noon.
The March dates are:
Wednesdays, March 13th, 20th, and 27th from 5-7pm. The first class on the 13th ends at 8pm.
$70 plus supplies*
In this class students will knit the Learn to Knit Mitts by Katherine Lynn. Students will learn to cast-on, the knit stitch, the purl stitch, slip stitches, ribbing, binding off and weaving in ends.

This is the class for knitters who are comfortable with knitting and purling. Students will knit Dustland Hat by Stephen West. First, there will be a review of casting-on and binding-off. Then, students will learn how to read a pattern, knit a textured stitch pattern, and determine which size of pattern to knit.

Hat and Peak by Maxim Cyr
Introduction to Colorwork Class
Saturdays, February 17th and March 2nd from 4-6pm.
$40 plus supplies*.
Supplies needed for the class are the Hat and Peak by Maxm Cyr pattern, US #3 (3.25mm) 16inch needles and US #5 (3.75mm) 16inch and double pointed knitting needles, 4 colors of sport weight yarn (we will have kits with Journey Sport from Julie Asselin available), stitch markers, and a tapestry needle.
This is a class for knitters who have successfully completed several hats and are now interested in learning colorwork. There will be homework that needs to be completed prior to the first class. Knitters will learn stranded colorwork, dominant versus background colors, and how to change and weave-in colors while knitting Hat and Peak by Maxim Cyr.
Saturdays, February 17th and March 2nd from 4-6pm.

During this workshop, Tori will discuss stitch anatomy and how to identify a problem in your work…and then how to fix it! You will also learn how to repair dropped or twisted stitches. During this workshop, Tori will also cover how to make a ‘gauge’ swatch and measure your work to ensure proper sizing.
Participants in this workshop should feel comfortable casting on and creating a swatch using knit and purl stitches, and reading a simple pattern. Instructions for creating a swatch will be emailed out prior to class.

This is the class for knitters who are comfortable with knitting and purling. We’ll review casting on and binding-off. While knitting Barley by Tin Can Knits, students will review casting-on and binding-off and learn how to read a pattern, knit textured stitches and determine which size of pattern to knit. If you are trying to choose between Barley and Dustland, Barley is more beginner-knitter friendly.

*Yarn needs to be purchased from Wasatch and Wool or there will be an additional $35 class fee. Class participants will receive a 10% discount on non-sale supplies. They will also receive the 10% discount on the final day of class for future knitting projects.
