Our Wednesday help sessions are back!
We are very fortunate to have Annabel Jamail joining us on Wednesdays from 11:00am-1:30pm. If you need a friendly person to look over your knitting or have a question about a particular stitch, these sessions are for you! The cost is $25 per session. They are free if your yarn was purchased from Wasatch and Wool! Please join us starting April 23rd.
Easter Hours
We are open our regular hours this week except for Good Friday, April 18th when we will be closed for the day. We look forward to seeing you either tomorrow, Thursday or on Saturday, April 19th.
What’s on Margaux’s needles?
It would be a sad newsletter if I didn’t include at least a couple of pattern photos. Plus, I am often asked about which project is on my needles. I must admit that I’m currently enjoying stress free knitting. Stockinette stitch? I love it!
I’ve been working on NAiMA Pullover DK by ANKESTRiCK for about a month. This pattern is worked from the top down. You start with the collar, so you don’t have to go back and pick up stitches around the neckline later. Raglan and radial increases are then knitted to increase the circumference until you separate for the sleeves.
I love the lace raglan detail which is continued down the length of the sweater. ANKESTRiCK also includes different options for the body which include straight and A-line. I chose to knit the straight version for a slimmer fit.
The pattern calls for Lore from The Fibre Co. which we stock. I decided to use one of our newer yarns. Mota from WoolDreamers, a lovely natural wool from Spain.
This week’s warm weather really felt like the start of spring! This meant that I had to find a warm weather project.
We just received a shipment of the most beautiful cotton from Germany which even has a touch of cashmere in it! I’ll be featuring this yarn in my next newsletter. More details on this mystery yarn soon!
The project I intend to use this yarn in is FREESTYLE Shirt by Susanne Müller. (One question – why are all these designers using CAPITAL letters everywhere?)
This is another simple raglan, but it is very elegant and understated. It will be a nice pattern for the summer.
