Elegant Simplicity, Summer-Ready — Meet Woolfolk Strå

As the seasons shift and days grow longer, it’s time to lighten up — both in mood and in materials. We’re thrilled to spotlight Woolfolk Strå, a yarn that embodies modern minimalism and breathable luxury.

Strå is a 50/50 blend of Woolfolk’s Ovis 21 Ultimate Merino® wool with linen which combines the crispness of the linen with the softness that Woolfolk is known for. The result? A gorgeous heathered yarn that softens after blocking, drapes beautifully, and is the perfect weight for late spring, summer, and early fall.

We love this yarn because it’s warm-weather friendly. It’s perfect for airy garments and breezy accessories. Strå has a very refined texture; the chainette construction creates a subtle structure without weight. And finally, we love the natural color palette this yarn is available in – soft, modern neutrals and earthy tones that flatter every wardrobe.

One pattern that has been very popular with customers here at the store is GLIDE by the Woolfolk Design Team. This tank (or vest depending on how you want to wear it) comes in a range of sizes and was designed for Woolfolk Strå and requires about 3-7 skeins of Strå. The tank is worked from the top down and can actually be reversible depending on your yarn joins.

If you would like to see GLIDE in person, please stop by the store. We currently have a sample on display.

Another customer favorite for Strå, is SAFT from the Woolfolk Design Team. This is the one piece you need to pack if you are going on an island vacation. You can dress it up and wear it to dinner with sandals that have a bit of a heel or just wear it more casually with flats.

This dress is a wonderful project for Brioche fans. It is worked flat in pieces from the lower edge to the neck edge and seamed. We had SAFT in the store as part of a Woolfolk trunk show last year.

A very cute tee that is part of our current truck show is CAPROCK by yamagara. This pullover is worked in the round from the top down. The yoke is shaped with short rows and shoulder increases, then the body and sleeves are divided for working in the round separately. CAPROCK comes in a range of sizes and was designed for Woolfolk Strå and requires about 5-9 skeins.

If you are looking to knit something for cooler evenings using Strå, Ozetta’s Field Day Cardigan would be the perfect choice. Field Day Cardigan is worked from the top down and is closed in the front with four buttons. It features back shaping and dropped shoulders for a relaxed fit. According to Ravelry, this cardigan uses on average 7 skeins of Strå.

Inspiration Awaits — whether you’re dreaming of a relaxed summer tee, an elegant tank, sleeveless summer dress, or a lightweight cardigan, Strå delivers comfort and style in every stitch.

To thank our locals and visitors who are in town during Park City’s version of spring, we are increasing the discount from 30% to 40% on all our sale merchandise in our third room!

If you need a friendly person to look over your knitting or have a question about a particular stitch, these sessions are for you! The cost is $25 per session. They are free if your yarn was purchased from Wasatch and Wool! (Annabel is out Wednesday, May 21st.)

Join us Wednesday mornings at 11am for our Sit and Stitch.

There is no charge, but we request that you use yarn purchased from Wasatch and Wool.

We love it when visitors drop by for our knitting get-togethers. If you are working on a project from home, let us help you find a souvenir that you can bring back from your trip to Park City.
