Buttery soft and smooth – Woolfolk Yarn’s Tov and Tov DK

With cooler weather approaching, now is the perfect time to plan your next knitting adventure. Woolfolk Yarn’s Tov and Tov DK, made from the finest Ovis 21 Ultimate Merino wool sourced directly from sustainable farms in Patagonia, need to be on the top of your yarn list.

Tov is a wonderfully cozy Aran weight yarn. Known for its exceptional softness and stunning stitch definition, Tov is a dream to work with and to wear. Tov’s plush texture and warmth make it the perfect yarn for cables, whether they are in warm hats, cozy scarves, or oversized sweaters.

Tov's color palette is muted and elegant with earthy neutral tones that emphasize the natural beauty of the fiber.

Need a pattern idea for what to knit with Tov? Here are a few.

One of my favorite sweaters in Tov is VENO by Veta Romanenkova. Different stitch patterns on this pullover create a blocked effect, with an asymmetrical pattern on the body and a different pattern on each sleeve.

Another spectacular pullover designed for Tov is DRIVTOMMER by Mary Anne Benedetto. This feminine interpretation of the traditional Gansey pullover incorporates several vertical and horizontal details to create a modern version of the time-honored classic. It is worked in pieces from the bottom up.

Wrap yourself in sumptuous Hesselo designed by Vincent Williams for Woolfolk Tov. This oversized scarf features a dynamic cable composition that is reminiscent of winding coastal paths.

Both of my daughters have requested Ode knit with Tov as a Christmas gift this year. A mix of cables turns this everyday hat into something both playful and classic.

Like TovTov DK is made from lush 100% Ovis 21 Ultimate Merino and offers unparalleled warmth and softness. The yarn features 12 crisply spun plies which create exquisite stitch definition and is perfectly suited for cables and colorwork.

It has a similar color palette that highlights the beautiful structure of the yarn.

Below are a few project ideas for Tov DK.

Cecelia Campochiaro designed a beautiful scarf or wrap (depending on which size you knit) for Tov DKPiet is soft and luscious with a nuanced grid pattern using sequence knitting. It is a true luxury for the knitter and the wearer.

MARSK by the Woolfolk Design Team is currently part of a Tov DK trunk show that we are hosting at the store. The refined cable pattern has cleverly integrated crown shaping, with two brim options to suit any preference.

Kristin Drysdale designed a neck warmer with Tov DK which is intended to be knit quickly and shipped off to warm a friend immediately.

North Star Cozy has two motifs with  Selbu stars and then secondary stars in the negative space. This project will keep you, or your loved ones, warm and cozy in sub-zero temperatures.

WELLESLEY by Tayler Harris, released earlier this month, is the latest pattern using Tov DK from Woolfolk Yarn. This gorgeous, cabled pullover is knitted top-down for a seamless and refined look. It features a cozy high neck detail that adds both comfort and elegance. The allover intricate chain link cables create a visually captivating texture, making it a truly elegant and enduring addition to your fall wardrobe.
